Mr. Ketcham was appointed to a four-year term on the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority Board on February 20, 2009, by Governor Charlie Crist. In 2010 he was elected Chairman.
A co-founder of the Firm, Mr. Ketcham received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and law degree from Stetson University in 1970 and 1973, respectively. He started his legal career at Mathews, Osborne, Ehrlich, McNatt, Gobelman, and Cobb in Jacksonville, Florida, then joined Walker, Miller & Ketcham in 1976. In 1987, Mr. Ketcham began practicing with his colleague and longtime friend Mason H. Grower III, practicing together under the name Taraska, Grower, Unger & Ketcham, P.A. in 1987. That firm evolved into its present form of Grower Ketcham.
A litigator for more than 35 years, Mr. Ketcham focuses in the areas of general insurance defense, governmental law and employment law, including personal injury claims, false arrest claims, civil rights claims, school board claims defense, premises liability defense, general commercial litigation, product liability defense, medical and dental malpractice claims, auto liability defense and defense of various trucking companies.
Mr. Ketcham is a former member of the Stetson Law Review and is an AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a former president and charter member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, whose invitation-only membership is limited to civil trial Bar members who have served as lead counsel in more than 50 trials and who repeatedly demonstrate superior trial skills and high moral character. Mr. Ketcham is noted for his common-sense, cost-effective approach to litigation. He has tried cases throughout the state of Florida and in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York. Mr. Ketcham regularly presents oral arguments before the Fifth District Court of Appeals and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for private and governmental entities.
Mr. Ketcham has served on the Orange County Art and Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee, as a reading mentor at Palmetto Elementary School and as a member of the Florida Bar Ethics Committee for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. In 2009, Mr. Ketcham was appointed to a four-year term on the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority and in 2010 was elected Chairman. When not practicing law or serving as a community volunteer, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife of more than 20 years, Vanessa, his children and grandchildren.
